Charlize is a modern contemporary artist that works in a variety of different, including printmaking, drawing, acrylic painting, and oil painting. Though she specializes in painting mostly with her most recent works being oil painting where she often uses vibrant colours. Color in the paintings is essential to her voice as an artist; she sees the beauty and power within heavy, saturated color and how it affects a painting. She uses color as a way to express an emotion or feeling that can, in turn, invoke that same feeling in the viewer.

She has been involved with visual artists from a young age and had a love for painting. Charlize continued to paint and had considerable potential which lead her to the University of Saskatchewan where she is currently finishing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honour Degree.
